About Us

The Institute of Continuing Professional Development, or CPD Institute, is an international cross-professional body promoting CPD, as a key component of lifelong learning, to organisations and individuals. It also encourages networking and partnership among professionals and the groups with which they are associated.

Suitably qualified Individuals are invited to apply for Fellowship or Membership of the Institute and be recognised by the distinguishing letters FInstCPD or MInstCPD after their name. Organisations demonstrating a commitment to CPD, and supporting the learning and development of their employees or members, are welcomed as Corporate Affiliates.

CPD and Lifelong Learning

Continuing professional development is the systematic maintenance and improvement of knowledge, skills and competence, and the enhancement of learning, undertaken by an individual throughout his or her working life.

CPD, in the context of lifelong learning, is vital in our increasingly networked world, where the growing use of information and communications technologies continues to dissolve boundaries.
